In a world that runs on the capture and management of data, the Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics will give you insight into the fundamental concepts behind data and databases and the state of the art techniques and technologies required to analyse large volumes of data while introducing you to the real-world applications that can be derived from a thorough understanding of the data at your fingertips.
The Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics teaches units accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and has Microsoft certifications - Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals and Microsoft Power Platforms incorporated into the units to ensure you’ll graduate job ready. All our units are also embedded with the United Nations sustainable goals. You can use the graduate certificate as a pathway to our Master of Information Technology and units from this course can also count towards a data analytics specialisation in the MBA.

Applicants with higher education study
Students whose first language is other than English need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy .
If your previous study has equipped you with knowledge, skills or experiences that align with the learning outcomes of units in your new course you may be able to apply for recognition of prior learning and you may be able to complete your course sooner.
International applicants

Applicants must have an overall academic IELTS of 6.5 (with an individual score of 6.0 for all tests) as well as a as the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree in any discipline; or at least two (2) years industry experience in a relevant role.

Course costs
The Tuition fees quoted above are for commencing students in the current year who undertake a normal full-time load. The Unit Fee is based on a 10cp unit. Fees are reviewed annually.
Tuition fees for continuing students may increase by up to 3 percent each year for the minimum duration of the course as provided on your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). Students who continue to study beyond the minimum duration will have the relevant annual commencing rate applied to their fees for subsequent study periods.

Associate Professor Haifeng Shen
Associate Professor, Peter Faber Business School
Dr Haifeng Shen is an Associate Professor of Information Technology in the Peter Faber Business School at Australian Catholic University (ACU). Before joining ACU in 2019, he had been a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics at Flinders University in Australia since 2009 and an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from 2003 to 2009. Dr Shen also has over six years working experience in industry as a software engineer, computer system administrator and programmer before becoming an academic.
Dr Mehdi Rajaeian
Lecturer, Peter Faber Business School
Dr Mehdi Rajaeian leads the Data Analytics stream in the Peter Faber Business School and teaches a variety of IT subjects such as Database Design, Data Analytics & Visualisation, Data Mining and Big Data. He is also engaged with industry through providing IT consultancy services. Dr Rajaeian has 15 years of academic work experience. Before his academic career Dr Rajaeian has worked in IT industry as System Analyst and IT Project Manager. His research interests include data analytics, decision support systems, IT Sourcing Strategies, Technology Adoption, and social and personal impacts of IT. Dr Rajaeian has completed a PhD in Information Systems at University of Southern Queensland, a MBA and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering at Sharif University of Technology.
