Unit rationale, description and aim

This unit provides students with the relevant theoretical knowledge, skills and abilities to recognise the importance of developing staffing strategies to enable an organisation to achieve its goals. The nature of staffing and people resourcing has changed over time and recently people on a variety of engagement arrangements do the work of an organisation. The unit explores the ethical issues associated with these more common forms of people resourcing considers how particular staffing techniques can be made more effective and efficient. Issues such as the introduction of employees to the organisation and retaining people for positions in the future are also examined. The role of talent management in organisations is examined.
