Can I apply for a position that is advertised for internal applicants only?

To be eligible to apply for internally-only advertised positions, you must be a current continuing, fixed-term, or casual ACU staff member at the time of advertisement.

I'm an international applicant, am I eligible to apply?

You may be eligible to apply but you will need to speak to the contact person for the advertised position to discuss visa requirements for the role. For further information, please refer our information for international applicants

Are my personal details safe?

Yes, please refer to ACU’s Privacy Statement.

How does ACU select applicants?

Selection is on the basis of the applicant's merit in relation to the selection criteria.

Can I still apply after the closing date?

You must submit your application by the closing date stated in the advertisement. We will not normally accept an application after the closing date unless prior arrangements have been made.

Do I need to include details of referees in my application?

We request that you include the names and contact details of referees. Referees should be current or previous managers/supervisors, or instead someone who has a detailed knowledge of your attributes against the selection criteria.

When will I find out if my application has been successful?

If your application is successful, then you will be contacted and notified that you have been short listed for interview. If you are not short-listed, then you will be notified that your application has been unsuccessful.

How can I prepare for my interview?

To prepare, review the position description and selection criteria and prepare examples illustrating your ability to address the key requirements of the role. If you require any special arrangements, please notify us prior to attending your interview.

What is ACU's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Program?
