Being a young person in a caring role isn’t easy. While Young Carers often learn compassion, intelligence and maturity, the extra strain of family life can quite often lead to feelings of social isolation. Little Dreamers is working to improve Young Carers’ quality of life, with a vision to ensure that every single Young Carer around the world is supported by someone or something by 2030.
The Group Mentoring program is a fun and engaging collection of workshops designed for Young Carers (aged 12-16). Facilitated by Little Dreamers staff and volunteers, Young Carers will connect with one another to explore topics like health and wellbeing, personal development, planning and organisation and connection and community.
To help Young Carers feel further engaged, the two days have been developed with a focus on S.T.E.A.M, with each day filled with fun activities including a robotics workshop, science games and craft.

As a Mentoring Group Program Volunteer, you will assist with facilitating workshops throughout the duration of the two days, including helping to organise the attendees, facilitating games and activities and inspiring the attendees to get involved and have fun!
This position is suitable for students with experience working with young people, or a desire to in the future.
