As part of a funded Transport program, St John are able to provide access to various social trips for clients to help them to be engaged in their community, meet people and have fun. We currently provide on average 2 x trips per week and vary in location. Some examples are: Doomben Races, Christmas in July, Samford Valley Garden Centre, whale watching.
Clients are collected via one of our dedicated 10 seater bus or a coach and taken to location. The St John team will stay with them for the duration of the trip and ensure they get back to their location safely. The focus of these trips are to foster friendships, bring fun and laughter to each client in safe environment.
Provide a helping hand for St John support workers whilst they take clients over the age of 65 out and about on a social trip to various locations such as museum, local café's or local attractions. You will be part of a support team for clients whilst out on these social trips.
You will be required to join the bus/transport to the venue helping people get on and off the bus, provide face to face interactions and conversations with clients and keep the atmosphere light and positive to ensure the clients have fun. You will also be additional support for any ad hoc enquiries that may arise from the day such as guidance walking around, getting lunches, taking photos, admin support.
