In a sector where personalisation, local service delivery and high ethical standards are greatly valued, traditional ideas about business growth warrant revisiting. Many entrepreneurs in the disability sector are purposely taking a boutique service approach, bucking the expectations that bigger is better.
Attending this webinar will prompt you to reconsider conventional wisdom about the ultimate aims of business, to uncover the future opportunities hiding in the challenges that are already here or just visible on the horizon, and to stay true to yourself, your ethics and your values as you pursue your entrepreneurial dreams.
Led by Verge Collaborative director Nat Ellis, and joined by experienced disability sector experts, expect to leave this session feeling inspired to make a dent in the fabric of the disability sector as we currently know it.
What you will learn:
The alternative ways a business can grow.
How to anticipate the challenges of future changes.
Where the unrecognised opportunities may be hiding.
How to stay connected to your values and purpose.
Key topics: Defining growth in a for-purpose business – considering ethics. Opportunity seeking (SWOT and PESTEL analyses). Overcoming the challenges of change and growth – staffing and market/system changes.
Industry guests: Chantelle Robards – Allied Health Specialist, Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program. Tracey Archer – Human Resources Specialist, Grow with You.
Outcomes: You will be encouraged to explore the many ways a business can grow, the challenges that have been experienced by other entrepreneurs in the sector, and the opportunities being recognised for the future – all within an ethical frame that emphasises the vulnerable nature of this sector’s customers.
Attendees of this workshop will be awarded a digital badge.
