The University of Bayreuth and the FIM Research Institute for Information Management use a specific model for company-applied research projects, embedded in a doctoral program. The program allows candidates to define their own research field and choose the direction in which they wish to develop. This encompasses both scientific work and practical experiences. Participants can experience different industries through various projects and broaden their horizons through interdisciplinary collaboration with young, ambitious colleagues from diverse fields of study and varying interests. The doctoral thesis consists of a cumulative dissertation containing essays, journal and conference publications.
