Jude Lawrie

Jude is currently the Project Coordinator for the Laureate Fellowship, awarded to Professor Anne Castles. The Project is Literacy in adolescence: the next major challenge in the science of reading with a working title of LiT (Literacy in Teens). This is a five-year, $3.147 Australian Research Funded Project, addressing the major national concern of falling literacy rates in teenagers. Outcomes will inform state and national policy in secondary school teaching and will guide practice and intervention. Jude is a very experienced university administrator. Firstly, at UNE as Project Officer to the Vice-Chancellor and then as Executive Officer to the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences at Macquarie University.
