The Historical Studies Research Concentration (HSRC) was established in 2013 with significant investment from the University, in recognition of the School’s record of producing high quality historical research. The HSRC brings together early, mid-career and senior scholars in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to focus on some of the burning issues in Australian and European history.
HSRC scholars have diverse research interests in social, cultural and political history, but pay special attention to issues of social justice connected to gender, race, class and youth. A number of our historians have been awarded prestigious Australian Research Council Discovery Grants to undertake innovative historical research in our key areas of focus.
In further acknowledgement of our achievements, History at ACU has been judged to be of 'world-class' in the most recent Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) reviews in 2012 and 2015.
