Dr Suzanne O'Toole, Lecturer, Melbourne Campus

Dr Suzie O'Toole is lawyer and social worker. As a social worker she worked predominantly in juvenile justice, in Sydney and in London. As a lawyer, she worked in criminal defence at Legal Aid, in Sydney, and then in private practice. Prior to joining ACU, Suzie taught criminal law and criminal procedure at Bond University in Queensland, and criminal law and criminology subjects at La Trobe University, Victoria. Her doctorate was subsequently published as a book titled 'I find you in contempt. Contempt in the face of the court in Australia: mental health, justice and human rights'. Suzie works part-time (2 days per week) and is based at the Melbourne campus. Her teaching areas include criminal law, criminal procedure, public law and criminology.
