Kids Central training and workshop

To support workers to develop their skills and knowledge in supporting children and families, ICPS has developed a two-day training package based on the Kids Central toolkit which includes interactive sessions. This training has been delivered to over 100 workers across the ACT and Victoria.

This workshop can be specially delivered to services upon request; and is also run on a regular basis in the ACT.

The workshop aims to provide participants with:

• A theoretical and practical context for why working with kids is important;
• An overview of the key messages we heard from kids about how they might best be supported;
• A series of activities, games and tools to engage, support and enable children to talk about issues such as their needs, hopes and experiences, safety and 'tough stuff', and their involvement in services.

ICPS can also travel to deliver training outside of Canberra to workers and services. To obtain a quote for training provided outside of Canberra, contact icps@acu.edu.au.
