This study aimed to increase our knowledge about the nature, extent and impact of the removal of infants (< 1 year old) and newborns (<31 days old) from their mothers. It was conducted in two Australian jurisdictions (NSW and WA) and comparisons were made with the findings from parallel studies in England and USA, via our partners on this project.
