Many Australian children and young people, particularly those engaged in statutory systems, live with disability and can face restrictions to their participation in community. In addition, as many as one in ten Australian children live in families with a parent or sibling with an illness, disability, mental health, alcohol or other drug issue or chronic condition. Our research involves learning about these children and young people and amplifying their voice for appropriate supports.
