Professor Tania Broadley
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education)
Professor Tania Broadley is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education). She is responsible for the student experience and oversight of key directorates including Libraries, First Nations, Student Experience and the Centre for Education and Innovation, the university's flagship resource for learning design, academic support and innovation in curriculum and pedagogy. The portfolio prides itself on placing the whole person at the centre of its strategies and working to deliver the best possible experience and outcomes to our students. Previously, Professor Broadley was Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the University of Canberra. At RMIT University, she held senior leadership roles, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President and Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching), overseeing a diverse and complex academic portfolio comprising nine schools within the College of Design and Social Context. Her leadership expertise also spans roles at QUT and Curtin University, where learning and teaching remained central to her focus.
Her academic foundations were built at Curtin University in the initial teacher education discipline. Her research areas are concentrated in the field of educational technologies, teacher education, teacher resilience and professional development. She has worked broadly across the education, learning and teaching, and online education areas, and has a strong academic publication record in teacher education, online education, student engagement and student learning.
Professor Broadley is a visionary and strategic executive. At the University of Canberra she led the university's generative AI for education and research strategy, sponsored the student success framework to align with the Universities Accord, and co-led the education transformative growth program to enhance digital learning and teaching. Her portfolio included student focussed areas including Student Life, Libraries, Careers & Employability, Learning & Teaching and Student Conduct. She brings a strong governance and quality assurance background that supports a high-quality student experience across all aspects of her work.
