The Blacktown Campus has kicked off Australian Catholic University’s open day events for 2023.
Open days are a one-stop-shop to help make an informed choice about higher education and career pathways. ACU’s newest campus in Blacktown saw a 30 per cent increase in prospective student attendance, and with similar events approaching across the remaining six Australian campuses, Associate Director, Future Students, Caroline Taouk has encouraged school leavers, non-school leavers and those considering postgraduate study to explore ACU’s varied pathways and course offerings.
“It’s a big decision, no doubt,” she said. “Why wouldn’t you take the chance for a deep dive into the place where you’re planning to spend the next few years?”
“It’s a showcase. Open days are your window of opportunity to discover the things you can’t learn from a website or a course guide. It allows you to feel your way through the campus and see if it’s the right fit for you.
“Getting face to face with a lecturer or a current student, or even just chilling in the student spaces, can equip you to make an informed decision.”
Over the next six weeks, ACU staff, researchers, lecturers and student ambassadors will deliver scores of presentations, campus tours and information sessions across its open day events – alongside plenty of hands-on activities that you can have a little fun with.
Visitors to open day events have the chance to ask questions about entry pathways, including ACU’s unique Veteran Entry Program for Australian Defence Force (VEP) personnel and their families.
Learning and disability support, student accommodation, career pathways, campus life, class sizes and fees are also hot topics.
It is also an opportunity to discover information about ACU’s Elite Athlete and Performer Program that supports students in achieving their active and academic goals, and the ACU Guarantee program that offers eligible Year 12 students a place at ACU based on their Year 11 results.
