ACU announces new Academic Registrar and Director, Student Administration

Australian Catholic University (ACU) has appointed Cheryl Fullwood to the position of Academic Registrar and Director, Student Administration.

Ms Fullwood joins ACU from Swinburne where she is the acting University Registrar and Director Student Administration leading a team of over 120 staff across three campuses.

She is an experienced strategic leader with 25 years’ experience in the higher education sector.

Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr Stephen Weller said Ms Fullwood brings exceptional knowledge of policy and processes across all functional areas of the student lifecycle.

“Cheryl is passionate about delivering seamless student administration experiences and helping universities perform at their best,” Dr Weller said.

“Her knowledge and experience will be key to ensuring a positive focus on student centred administrative services.”

At Swinburne, she has been responsible for setting the strategic direction for its student administration experience and built a reputation for enhancing the student experience. 

This included leading and delivering Swinburne’s Enrolment Modernisation Project, a $25million project introducing an intuitive student portal to lift the student enrolment experience journey.

Ms Fullwood said she was delighted to join ACU and looked forward to supporting its strategic initiatives while working collaboratively with colleagues across portfolios and campuses. 

“The opportunity to build and contribute to the ACU student experience framework within a transformational period for the sector is exciting,” she said.

“The student and staff experience is a collaborative and shared journey and I recognise the expertise and benefits of academic and professional staff collaborating together with students to design a student experience focussed on excellence and success.

“Emerging digital technology will provide opportunities to transform and personalise the student experience promoting collaboration, sustainability, and alignment with strategic goals.”

Ms Fullwood will start in the role 29 January and will be based at ACU’s Melbourne campus.
