Stronger ties with Vietnam National University in education excellence

Australian Catholic University (ACU) is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with the esteemed University of Education, Vietnam National University (VNU-UEd), reaffirming the mutual commitment to fostering global education excellence.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Pro Vice-Chancellor of Global and Education Pathways at ACU Mr Chris Riley and formally countersigned on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the VNU-UEd campus in Hanoi, Vietnam, by  Rector of VNU-UEd professor Nguyen Quy Thanh.

Distinguished dignitaries, including Australian Trade and Investment Commissioner Mr Chris Morley, and Austrade Business Development Manager Ms Hien Le attended, offering vital support, highlighting the significance of stronger educational ties between Vietnam and Australia within the higher education sector.

The pivotal agreement signifies a giant leap forward in the partnership between the two renowned education institutions and promises to catalyse a wide array of collaborative opportunities. It lays the foundation for a host of cooperative endeavours, encompassing teaching and learning, collaborative curriculum development, research projects, and academic initiatives, including the development of joint courses.

Mr Riley highlighted the importance of this partnership and said, “ACU's dedication to fostering collaboration with prominent higher education institutions in Vietnam mirrors our shared mission to advance research projects and enhance educator training at all levels. ACU is one of the top 50 universities worldwide for education. By forming this partnership with VNU-UEd, we continue to create an enriching journey of international exchange, mutual growth, and academic excellence for the two countries’ future teachers and educators.”

Professor Thanh said the signing of the agreement marked the beginning of a highly promising collaboration: “The University of Education, Vietnam National University is honoured to collaborate with ACU, creating boundless possibilities for a mutually beneficial bilateral partnership for extensive collaboration in transnational education and research programs involving students, academic professionals, and administrative staff members. We eagerly look forward to exploring various avenues of partnership, nurturing valuable opportunities for our students and faculties.”
