ACU and OP Jindal Global University create new partnership

Australian Catholic University (ACU) has officially partnered with leading Indian university OP Jindal Global University (JGU).

The official partnership signifies new opportunities for the two prominent global higher education institutions to explore developing joint courses, facilitating research, and collaborating and participating in international events and projects.

Both ACU and JGU have the vision to foster academic excellence, global perspectives, and interdisciplinary research. The strategic partnership will open pathways for students and staff to advance and collaborate, particularly in areas including social sciences, business and management, law, and arts and humanities, where both universities demonstrate exemplary performance and are awarded outstanding academic rankings worldwide.

ACU Pro Vice-Chancellor, Global and Education Pathways Mr Chris Riley said, “At ACU, we see our students as whole persons; we support the development of our students and staff to enable them to be contributing members and leaders of society. By partnering with JGU, we are expanding international research and learning opportunities for both universities. The transnational partnership will enhance the competitiveness of our students and academics to excel in an increasingly globalised workforce.

“With a remarkable presence in India, JGU is a globally recognised institution and renowned for its interdisciplinary approach and international perspective. Their motivation encompasses potential collaborations with ACU in research, joint degrees, articulation arrangements, and more,” Mr Riley said.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Dr) C. Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of JGU said, “I am truly honoured to witness the formal signing of our partnership today. This celebrates the collaboration between ACU and JGU as we work hand in hand to empower our students and staff to unlock the greater meaning behind their studies and research and contribute their wealth of expertise and knowledge beyond their own country. It is promising for both institutions to achieve mutual growth and global impact.”

Mr Riley and Professor Kumar signed the memorandum of understanding in August 2023, in celebration of the establishment of the official partnership between the two universities.
