Admission requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing, an applicant must:

  1. have completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent;
  2. hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  3. be employed in a substantive position in their chosen specialisation, unless approved otherwise by the Course Coordinator.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

a. For Project Stream:

  1. 40 cp from Clinical Nursing Units (Part A)
  2. 40 cp from Project Stream Units (Part B)

OR

b. For Research Stream:

  1. 40 cp from Clinical Nursing Units (Part A)
  2. 40 cp from Research Stream Units (Part C)

Students need to remain employed in the specialty nursing area while studying the x4 clinical nursing units (Grad Cert level) unless approved otherwise by the Course Coordinator

Exit points

A student who has completed the following requirements from the specialisations in the Schedule of Unit Offerings may exit with the relevant award:

  • Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing:40 cp from Clinical Nursing Units.

Progression requirements

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator.
