Unit rationale, description and aim

The contemporary workforce requires culturally competent graduates able to apply knowledge and skills derived from learning experiences that develop a deeper knowledge of the world and a heightened awareness of different peoples and cultures. GLST302 requires students to extend the study undertaken in their Global Studies degree via either study at one of ACU's international partner universities or other approved internationally-focused coursework. The aim of this units is to foster a deeper knowledge of the world inside and outside Australia and make Global Studies graduates more employable in the global market place. In exceptional circumstances students may be allowed to undertake this unit in Australia via internationally-focussed coursework.

On successful completion of this unit, students should be able to:

Learning and teaching strategy and rationale

Students will study the unit at an international partner university or in an international unit approved by the National School of Arts. Teaching and learning strategies will vary according to the country chosen and the option selected. 

In exceptional circumstances students may be allowed to undertake this experience in Australia via internationally-focussed coursework. These exceptions operate as per section 5.6 of the Academic Regulations.
