Unit rationale, description and aim

Plant diversity is critical to the survival of other organisms on Earth as plants provide many of the shelter and food resources essential to life. In this unit students examine how plants have evolved to cope with the wide range of environmental conditions on Earth. The unit introduces the diversity of plant structure and function at cellular and whole plant levels and explores how these reflect environmental conditions. Students will learn practical skills for studying plants at microscopic and whole plant levels.
