NilUnit rationale, description and aim
This unit will introduce students to the nervous system and will explain how it is that humans are able to perceive various types of sensations from the "five traditional senses" to senses which may not be noticed but are required for everyday life and movement (e.g. proprioception). After looking at an overview of the nervous system including its overall function and some basic anatomy, students will examine the sensory elements of the human nervous system in detail, including the neurological diseases and processes which can cause disordered sensation.
