Water is fundamental to all forms of life. Hydrology, the study of water, is of central importance to the work and research of scientists, consultants and managers tasked with the management of our environment. Hydrology is a topic that draws on knowledge and skills from across the environmental sciences, from weather and climate through to geology, soils, landscapes and ecosystems. This unit provides a broad introduction to the field of hydrology with a focus on catchment process and the measurement and management of water resources. In this unit, students will gain an understanding of hydrology and water management by combining the study of theories and case studies with the analysis and interpretation of observed data.
