Unit rationale, description and aim

This unit reinforces the University Core Curriculum exploring the cumulation of beliefs and understandings of indigenous peoples that develop through an association with place. The unit will focus on knowledge of a variety of Australian indigenous peoples, examining the physical, spiritual, social and cultural connection of community to land. Students will explore the ways in which indigenous knowledge informs approaches to land and marine management, sustainability practices, social justice, and health reinforcing the theme of UNCC100 related to caring for the environment.
