Students will participate in the equivalent of 500 hours of supervised field education experience including 24 hours of participation in class seminars.Unit rationale, description and aim
In this field placement unit students will explore the nature of culturally responsive social work practice, with emphasis given to students' reflecting on how different vulnerable populations experience service delivery. The supervised field placement component will provide students with the opportunity to further extend their knowledge and skills in direct or/and indirect practice in a range of agency, organisational and community settings. By the end of the second field placement it is expected that students will be able to work in both direct and indirect practice contexts with the autonomy and competence that is expected of a new social work graduate.
