Note:

This course requires students to attend up to two residential learning and teaching periods of 1-2 weeks each in Brisbane each semester.


EFTSL value of units : All 10cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a credit point (cp) value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

Admission requirements

An applicant must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 60 cp from Interdisciplinary Units (Part A);
  2. 20 cp from University Core Curriculum Units (Part B);
  3. 90 cp from Midwifery Theory Units (Part C);
  4. 70 cp from Midwifery Professional Practice Units (Part D).

Progression requirements

Students normally complete a unit or units at an introductory level (100-level) in an approved sequence before undertaking advanced level units (200 or 300-level) in that sequence.
