Definition
A Major consists of 80 cp in prescribed units in one discipline or approved interdisciplinary area, normally including at least 10 cp at 100-level, at least 40 cp at 200-level and at least 20 cp from 300-level
A Minor consists of 40 cp in prescribed units in one discipline or approved interdisciplinary area, normally including at least 10 cp at 100-level and at least 20 cp at 200/300-level.
Completion requirements
To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 cp consisting of:
- 20 cp from Specified Units (Part A);
- 80 cp from Major in either Biblical Studies or Christian Thought (Part B);
- 40 cp from Minor in either Biblical Studies or Christian Thought (Part C) in the alternative discipline to b. above;
- 20 cp from Core Curriculum Units (Part D)
- 10 cp from Community Engagement Unit (Part E);
- 70 cp from Electives (Part F)*, OR
- 40 cp from Minor (Part G) and 30 cp from Electives (Part F) drawn from the Schedule of Unit Offerings listed or drawn from the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Arts.
In the total of 240 cp, no more than 100 cp may be selected from 100-level units.
* Students may take Electives drawn from the Minors in the Schedule of Unit Offerings (listed) or from the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Arts
Exit points
A student who has completed 40 cp in Philosophy units may exit with the Non-Award Certificate in Philosophy.
A student who has completed 40 cp in Theology units, including THBS100 Introduction to the Bible and THCT100 What Christians Believe, may exit with the Non-Award Certificate in Theology.
A student who has completed 80 cp in Philosophy units may exit with the Diploma in Philosophy.
A student who has completed 80 cp in Theology units, including THBS100 Introduction to the Bible and THCT100 What Christians Believe, may exit with the Diploma in Theology.
Progression requirements
Unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator, a student must have completed at least 40 cp in 100-level units before undertaking 200-level units and 40 cp in 200-level units before undertaking 300-level units.
