Unit rationale, description and aim

The application and use of mentoring in outdoor programming and adventure therapy will be explored. Students will be introduced to the concept of mentorship. They will have the opportunity to work alongside a young person as a mentor and to apply the principles of mentorship within a real-life setting. There will be an expectation that students work towards developing a positive and supportive relationship with a young person as they participate in a community outdoor adventure therapy program.
