Unit rationale, description and aim
The contemporary workforce requires culturally competent graduates able to apply knowledge and skills derived from learning experiences that develop a deeper knowledge of the world and a heightened awareness of different peoples and cultures.
GLST302 requires students to enhance the study undertaken in their Global Studies degree via either study at ACU’s Rome campus, or one of ACU's international partner universities. In exceptional circumstances where students are not able to travel for a semester, a student may be allowed to undertake this unit in Australia via internationally focused coursework or as a short international travel experience (STISE) combined with internationally focused coursework.
The aim of this unit is to develop a deeper knowledge of the world inside and outside Australia and make Global Studies graduates more employable in the global marketplace.
Students in the Bachelor of International Development Studies Degree may opt to study overseas.
