Dr. Gretchen Geng is the Deputy Head of the School of Education at Australian Catholic University. Before her career in tertiary education, Dr. Geng was a preschool and primary school teacher and had years of practical experience teaching English as a second language to young children and school-aged children. Dr. Geng has been involved in using digital educational technologies in teaching school students in the global learning context. In 2020 and 2021, Dr. Geng led a teaching and learning project for the “Playful Reading” pedagogy program. This project was embedded as a module for an online teacher training course funded by the Victorian Government Trade & Investment – South East Asia. Dr. Geng’s current research interests include analysing the impact of teaching resources and the use of digital technologies as teacher competencies. She is currently working on developing a model to assist ESL teacher competencies development of teaching the blended course from learners’ perspectives. |
