Assoc Prof Carolyn Broadbent is located at ACU in Canberra, ACT. Carolyn’s extensive teaching, research and executive roles build on substantial experience across a diverse range of educational settings. She has been made a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators (FACE) and Australian Council of Educational Leaders (FACEL).

  • Moore, F. & Broadbent, C. (tba).  Worked collaboratively with staff, teachers, school students and Guest presenters to design and present Government  
    Funded Equity Pathways programs in Young NSW. Recognised by Govt. as a successful program.
  • Articulation of Curriculum Leadership Program: Transforming Teaching and Learning into Master of Education (2012 – 2015)
    Curriculum Leadership Program, Transforming Teaching and Learning 2013.
    CLP designed to provide leaders in Archdiocesan schools with the knowledge and skills to lead school improvement through curriculum development and innovation.  Program developed by CEO, Canberra/Goulburn in consultation with ACU.  Program delivered by qualified personnel from both organisations. The CLP Program: Transforming Teaching and Learning was considered for credit into the Master of Education Course.   
  • ACU - St Mary MacKillop College Partnership 2011
    Partnership between ACU and St Mary MacKillop School developed a model for Secondary teacher education that provided preservice teachers enrolling at ACU with opportunities to engage in authentic teaching and learning experiences.  The partnership began with 26 preservice teachers and 5 years later the academic year began with 60!  Govt recognised program.
  • Global Education Projects. Contractor: COACTEA (Council of ACT Education Associations). Broadbent, C. & Wilson, S. Focus: To promote and extend global education within pre-service teacher training. Initiative: Australia-Thailand Partnership in Civics and Citizenship Education.
  • ARTS Factory Initiatives
    Broadbent, C., Hinder, C., Olver E., Thomas, R., Carmody, M., Smith, Duncan, in collaboration with The Robb Street Gallery, Bairnsdale, Vic., and local artists, including the Wiradjuri Echoes Indigenous Community aimed to build partnerships between ACU and wider rural, Indigenous, and regional communities.  Coordinated by ARTS FACTORY Committee (Chair, C. Broadbent).  Examples of Planning 1997:  Exhibitions, Short Courses, Holiday programs, ACU-Arts Factory 10th Anniversary wine label.   Project generated funding.
  • The What’s Up? Families Learning Together Program – an after school ten weeks program (conducted twice) for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students and parent/caregivers of the local community, and
  • The 3 C’s (Culture, Communication and Connectedness) – a ten-week adult course (conducted twice) for members of the wider Indigenous community, including those parents/caregivers participating in the What’s Up? Program.   Funding: $14, 820. Including Indigenous Education Presenters and Artists; Special education assistants and members of the wider educational community.

  • Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning presented to Dr Carolyn Broadbent from ACU for inspiring teacher education students to build sustainable communities of learning through the ARTS Factory initiative.  ‘Celebrating your contribution to learning and congratulating you as a winner in the 2007 Carrick Australian Awards for University Teaching.’
