Clare Cole, RN, BN, Cert IV in Training and Assessment, Grad Cert Nursing (Ortho), Grad Cert Higher Education and Learning, Mast EdSt, PhD Position: Lecturer, School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine (Melbourne).
Clare came to ACU in 2021 having worked in nursing Academica for a significant period, previously at Federation University Australia, Victoria University and Swinburne University of Technology. Clare is an experienced clinical nurse, academic and early career researcher. Clare's PhD investigated the need for advocacy in nursing practice and whether in contemporary nursing practice this was still a role that nurses should undertake. Clare has a strong interest in the concept of caring and what this looks like in today's clinical environment where there is a focus on patient centered care.
Clare teaches into the first and second years of the BN program and focuses on clinical preparation of students in the Integrating Practice units.
