Dr David Barnett is a behavioural scientist interested in understanding how the built environment influences lifestyle behaviours, particularly physical activity in older adults. Through his work, he strives to better inform decision-makers responsible for building/reshaping neighbourhoods and cities to facilitate active ageing.

Dr Barnett is also interested in studying the measurement of physical activity and sedentary behaviour/time and the role different measurement techniques may play in the associations mentioned above.

Finally, Dr Barnett also has a keen and growing interest in research synthesis, epistemology, andragogy, and methodological quality assessment.
