Associate Professor Haifeng Shen is the Discipline Head of Information Technology in the Peter Faber Business School at Australian Catholic University (ACU) since 2019. He is also a visiting fellow at the EPICentre (The Expanded Perception and Interaction Centre) of the University of New South Wales. He had been a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics at Flinders University in Australia since 2009 and an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from 2003 to 2009. Dr Shen leads the Human-centred Intelligent Learning and Software Technologies Research Lab (HilstLab) at ACU. He specialises in human-computer interaction, human-AI interaction, software engineering, and simulation and visualisation. His research is uniquely positioned at the intersection of human, AI, and software with an aim to develop and/or study applications that can solve real-world problems. He has published over 120 research papers at international conferences and journals, including flagship and top venues such as ACM Transactions on Computer Human Interaction, International Journal of Human Computer Studies, ACM SIGCHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, ACM Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing, and IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering. His research has been supported by more than $2M research grants from various funding agencies, industries, and universities.
