Dr Harold Culala is a Senior Lecturer (Academic Development) at the Centre for Education and Innovation at Australian Catholic University (ACU). He has nearly two decades of experience in Teacher Education, curriculum and pedagogy development, having previously served as an Academic Developer at James Cook University (JCU) in Queensland and in leadership roles at Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila, Philippines, including Vice President for Academic Services, Associate Professor & Dean of the Institute of Education, and Director of the Education Technology Centre.

Dr Culala has contributed to national education reform in the Philippines through his role as a member of the Teacher Education Council and as a Technical Expert on the General Education Curriculum for the Philippine's Commission on Higher Education.

His research interests include curriculum policies, teacher education, and educational reform, with a focus on critical pedagogy and the epistemologies of education in the Global South. He is the founding editor and former Executive Editor of the Asian Journal on Perspectives in Education (AJPE) and currently serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice (JUTLP).

Dr Culala has led faculty development programmes across Southeast Asia and worked on consultancy projects with the Philippine government.
