Associate Professor Louisa Lam has extensive background in the field of cardiovascular disease diagnosis and management, clinical trials, emergence and critical care research, population general wellbeing and workforce management such as nurses' work satisfaction burnout and resilience, and workplace aggression experience.

She brings many years of senior management, research and teaching experience. She is passionate about nursing education, research and committed to improving the health of our population through innovative teaching and translational research to enhance and extend current thinking and practices to achieve the best possible results in education, clinical practices and patient outcomes.

Louisa is a registered nurse in both Australia and in Hong Kong. She has more than 30 years of clinical nursing and academic experience in Hong Kong and Australia. She has worked as Project Manager and Senior lecturer at different Schools and centres at Monash University, such as the Accident Research Centre, School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Public Health as well as the Australia New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC) where she managed multi-centre double blinded randomised controlled trials in the areas of intensive care patient management, observational injury prevention studies and road trauma studies.

She has an excellent track record in project management, program/course coordination, supervision and management of staff, PhD, Master and Honour degree students. I have held the position of Chief Examiner and unit coordinator for many different units, across both the Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing Practice degrees.

Louisa has completed a graduate certificate in Higher Education, postgraduate diploma in advanced clinical nursing (specialising in coronary care), a master's degree in Public Health and a PhD in Medicine (Public health stream).

Louisa is an editor for Collegian and a board member of the Higher Education Academic Board at Chisholm TAFE. She currently holds and Adjunct Associate Professor position at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University and the Institute of Health and Wellbeing at Federation University Australia.
