Y. J. Doran is Senior Lecturer in English Language and Literacy at the Australian Catholic University. His research focuses on language, semiosis and education from the perspectives of Systemic Functional Linguistics and Legitimation Code Theory. His work considers grammatical, discourse semantic, register and genre-based descriptions of language (in particular English and Sundanese) and multimodal discourse, and their role in applied settings.
