Master of Teaching (Secondary) (Internship) – Victoria offering

The Master of Teaching (Secondary) (Internship) will provide you with the opportunity to undertake paid work of three - four days in a range of eligible secondary schools. This internship will occur during your second year of study while completing a major project focused on teaching as evidence-based practice.
The aim of the program is to attract participants who want to train to teach in priority areas such as STEM and humanities in outer-metropolitan, rural and regional locations across Victoria.

The structure of this course allows you to complete up to 100cp of the course work in first year in an accelerated mode. This will allow you undertake paid work of three to four days per week in the second year of the course, while completing the remainder of your degree. You will benefit from three professional experience placements of 60 days. Two of your placements will take place in your first year at different schools. Once you have successfully completed your first year, you will enter the professional internship program in your second year and complete your final placement with your host school.
To help you along one of your first-year placements will be in the same school you will undertake your internship.
During this program you will receive a $15,000 scholarship to support you during your first 12 months of study, and then paid at Paraprofessional Level 1, Range 1, Step 3 while learning on-the-job at a local school as you complete your studies.
