Definition

"Minor": 40 cp in prescribed units in one discipline, normally including at least 10 cp at introductory level and at least 20 cp at advanced level.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the pass degree, a student must complete 320 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 140 cp from Psychology Specified Units (Part A)
  2. 40 cp from Minor:
  3. 40 cp from Health Sciences Minor (Part B); OR
  4. 40 cp from Arts Minor (Part C)
  5. 20 cp from University Core Curriculum Units (Part D)
  6. 10 cp from Psychology Community Engagement Unit (Part E)
  7. 10 cp from Psychology Elective Units (Part F)
  8. 20 cp from General Elective Units (Part G)
  9. 40 cp from Specified Honours Units (Part H)
  10. 40 cp from Honours Thesis Units (Part I)

Other requirements

ACU Student Internal Course Transfer

Students in the Bachelor of Psychological Science who have completed between 120 to 160 credit points and have a GPA of 5.5 on the ACU seven-point scale are eligible to apply for transfer into the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours).

(Note: Given the honours thesis must start in Semester 1, for mid-year entry students there is normally a one semester break between the end of their third year (at mid-year) and the beginning of fourth year studies in Semester 1).

Acceptance into the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) via transfer is dependent on availability of spaces in the program.

Progression requirements

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator.

Progression Requirements for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)

To progress to the third year of the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), students must maintain a GPA of 5.5 on the ACU seven-point scale in the first two years of this course. Students who do not meet this requirement will be transferred into the Bachelor of Psychological Science.

To be eligible to continue to the Honours year i.e. the fourth year of this course, a student must maintain a grade point average of at least 5.5 on the ACU seven-point scale in the third year of this course. In addition, students will be required to achieve a minimum of Distinction in at least six (6) specified psychology units undertaken in the second and third year of the program. Students who do not meet these requirements will be transferred into the Bachelor of Psychological Science.
